Which cover do you need?

The main types of motor cover in Pakistan, explained plainly

Comprehensive

The widest cover. It normally pays for accidental damage to your own car, theft, fire and your liability to other people. Exact benefits depend on the insurer and plan you choose.

Third-Party

The basic cover. It deals only with your liability to other people — injury to them or damage to their property. It does not pay for damage to, or theft of, your own car.

Vehicle Takaful

A Shariah-compliant alternative to conventional insurance. Participants contribute to a shared pool that is managed by a licensed takaful operator.

How it works

Four steps from your request to your policy

  1. 1

    Send your request

Fill in the short form with your car and the cover you want.

  2. 2

    We collect quotations

Our insurance officer asks licensed insurers for their offers.

  3. 3

    You compare

See the premium, charges and cover of each quotation in writing.

  4. 4

    Insurer issues the policy

The company you choose issues the policy after its form and payment.

AsaanTax.pk does not issue policies or collect premiums as an insurer. Your contract of insurance is with the company that issues your policy.

What you need

A quotation needs only a few details. The documents are needed later, when the insurer prepares your policy.

For the quotation

  • Make, model, variant and model year of the car
  • Approximate market value in rupees
  • City where the car is registered
  • Private or commercial use
  • Your name and mobile number
  • For a renewal: current insurer and expiry date

For the policy

  • Copy of the owner's CNIC
  • Registration book or smart card (or the sales invoice for a brand-new car)
  • Previous policy or renewal notice, if you are renewing
  • Vehicle photos or an inspection, if the insurer asks for one

Each insurer confirms its own list. You can attach the registration book or previous policy to your request to save time.

Car insurance questions, answered honestly

What we do, what the insurer does, and what a quotation means

Does AsaanTax.pk issue the insurance policy?

No. AsaanTax.pk is an intermediary. We collect your details and arrange quotations from licensed insurance and takaful companies. The policy is issued by the company you choose, in that company's own name and on its own terms.

Is there a charge for requesting a quotation?

Requesting a quotation through this website is free and you are under no obligation to buy. The premium and every charge are written on the quotation, so you can see the full amount before you decide.

How is my premium worked out?

Each insurer sets its own rate. It usually depends on the value of the car, its model year, how the car is used, the type of cover and whether a tracker is required. We do not publish guessed prices — the quotation you receive confirms the exact premium for your car.

What is the difference between comprehensive, third-party and takaful cover?

Comprehensive cover normally includes damage to your own car, theft and your liability to other people. Third-party cover deals only with your liability to other people and their property. Vehicle takaful is a Shariah-compliant arrangement run by a takaful operator. The exact benefits and exclusions are listed in each quotation and in the insurer's policy document.

What happens after I accept a quotation?

Accepting a quotation tells us which offer you prefer. It does not start your cover. Our insurance officer then contacts you to complete the insurer's proposal form and arrange payment of the premium. Cover begins only when the insurer issues the policy or cover note.

Who handles my claim if something happens?

Claims are assessed, approved and paid by your insurer under the terms of your policy. We can help you with the claim form, the supporting documents and follow-up, but we cannot approve a claim or promise its result.

Important: Insurance is arranged only through licensed insurance / takaful companies. AsaanTax.pk assists with quotations and paperwork and does not issue policies itself.
