About this service
Tax planning means arranging your affairs within the law so that you do not pay more tax than you have to, and are not surprised by tax you did not expect. It is different from hiding income, which we do not advise on.
We look at your income, assets and plans for the year and point out what the law lets you do.
- Tax credits you may qualify for, such as eligible investments, pension contributions and donations to approved institutions, as per current FBR rules
- Adjustable withholding taxes that people often forget to claim
- Salary structure and benefits for employees and owner-directors
- The right form for a business: sole proprietorship, AOP or company
- The tax effect of a planned property, vehicle or investment transaction before you commit
- Keeping your wealth statement consistent as your assets grow
The best time to plan is before the tax year ends on 30 June, not when the return is due.
Documents required
- Copy of your CNIC or business registration
- Last year's return and wealth statement
- Details of your income sources for the current year
- Details of investments, loans and planned transactions
- Salary slip or employment contract, for salaried people
Exact requirements depend on your case. Your officer will confirm the final list after reviewing your details.

Frequently asked questions
Is tax planning legal?
Yes. Using the credits, exemptions and choices the law provides is legal. Concealing income or making false declarations is not, and we do not assist with it.
How can a salaried person reduce tax?
Mainly through the tax credits allowed for the year and by claiming adjustable taxes already paid. What you can claim depends on current FBR rules and your own figures.
When should I do tax planning?
During the tax year, ideally well before 30 June. After the year has ended, most options are closed.
